Make it 12 blowout wins for the Captain Shreve Gators this season. They blew past Southwood 51-31. The win was all the more spectacular given Captain Shreve's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Cowboys are ranked 18th).
Captain Shreve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ejoshua Mcdonald led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jyrin Sowell, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Captain Shreve has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Southwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.
Captain Shreve will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Benton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Southwood will take on the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
