Lake View dropped their record down to 13-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Latta Vikings, falling 8-2. For Latta's part, Seth Minshew made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Minshew has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Logan Byrd was excellent, going 3-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
