Cottonwood won the last time they faced Stansbury and things went their way on Friday too. The Cottonwood Colts enjoyed a cozy 46-27 win over the Stansbury Stallions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.
Taylor Workman was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 13 en route to 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carley Caton, who posted six points in addition to six boards and five steals.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Cottonwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stansbury only posted six assists.
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah Larsen, who had five points and four steals. Larsen has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addi Hansen, who earned ten points.
Cottonwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Stansbury, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10.
Cottonwood will square off against Park City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cottonwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season. As for Stansbury, they will face off against Tooele at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tooele will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Stansbury surely won't give up without a fight.
