The Calhoun Tigers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 44-32 win over Hatch on Thursday. The win was just what Calhoun needed coming off of a 47-20 defeat in their prior contest.
Calhoun's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Layla Gary led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Timmons, who scored 4 points along with 9 steals.
Calhoun's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Hatch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will take on Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hatch, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against James Clemens at 12:00 p.m.
