The biggest upset of the week belonged to Saddleback Valley Christian, who took down 800th ranked Capistrano Valley Christian, 49-14. Forrest Lohman ran for 354 yards and caught two passes for 11 yards in the win.
The Warriors' Lohman recorded the longest rushing play in San Joaquin this season in his game against the Eagles last week.
Capistrano Valley Christian's dynamic duo of Riley Babick and Ben Sukut proved tough for Saddleback Valley Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Babick threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns and Sukut had 195 yards receiving. AJ Discenzo helped Capistrano Valley Christian's passing attack out by catching three balls for 17 yards.
Dan Dodd's team's Babick and Sukut have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Babick has thrown for 1445 yards this season, while Sukut, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 50 catches for 761 yards. Lohman from Justin Reber's team leads the league in rushing with 1173 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Warriors take on Santa Clarita Christian. Saddleback Valley Christian is in third place, while the Cardinals are in second place.
The Warriors moved up to 904 from 943 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in San Joaquin. Saddleback Valley Christian climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Eagles 49-14.
