The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 24-20 W over Bertrand. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wilcox-Hildreth also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
It was another big night for Madison Bunger, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played.
Despite the defeat, Bertrand saw an underclassman step up: Addison Andersen scored 11 points along with three steals. Andersen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Wilcox-Hildreth pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Bertrand, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Wilcox-Hildreth will be playing in front of their home fans against Kenesaw at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kenesaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. As for Bertrand, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Valley on Thursday. Southern Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
