Dallas extended the longest winning streak in Wyoming Valley 3A this week by beating Crestwood, 35-12. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Mountaineers.
Tunkhannock moved up to 445 from 475 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Williamsport 35-14.
Pittston's James Emmett and Joe Starinsky have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Emmett has thrown for 822 yards this season, while Starinsky, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 26 catches for 527 yards. James M. Coughlin's Zac Evans leads the league in rushing yards with 1129.
Two of the top units in Wyoming Valley 3A will face off this week when the Crusaders take on Berwick. James M. Coughlin's offense has scored 161 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Bulldogs have allowed only 109 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Ciro Cinti's team takes on Berwick. As it stands, the Crusaders are in third, while George Curry's team is in first.
Dallas took down the Comets 35-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
