Softball Recap: Central Wins High-Profile Game Against Auburn

Central faced Auburn in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Tigers. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matches by six runs or more this season.

Khloe Broadwater was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mariah Harrison, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-8 record.

Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
