Momence had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Kankakee Trinity Academy by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Momence Athletics also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Momence not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Kankakee Trinity Academy to exactly 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16.

Maryah Crite paced Momence's offense, picking up six kills. Crite got some help from Marissa Lambert and her eight assists. Brooklyn Moeller controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Kankakee Trinity Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Momence will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kankakee Trinity Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
