After a string of three wins, the Mountain Ridge Miners's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 66-45 loss at the hands of Allegany. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain Ridge in their matchups with the Campers: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Mountain Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eli Sibley. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cobe Penick, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Mountain Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Allegany, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Clear Spring has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 26. As for Allegany, they will head out on the road to take on the Golden Tornado at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
