After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Early, The Brady Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Ballinger by a score of 34-27. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Brady's eight-point performance the match before.
Brady had a senior duo take command as Daryl Adair rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns and Zeke Jones rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.
Despite the loss, Ballinger still got an impressive performance from Zach Canada, who rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown. Canada was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Manny Gonzalez was another key contributor, picking up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Brady's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 3-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.7 points per game. As for Ballinger, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brady will take on Grape Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grape Creek comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Ballinger, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
