Whiteford is 8-2 against Summerfield since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Whiteford Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Summerfield Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Whiteford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
A well-balanced attack led Whiteford over Union City in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Whiteford blew Union City out of the water with a 45-7 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Whiteford had established a 23 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whiteford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Debarr, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Debarr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Ryin Ruddy, who rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Summerfield can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 36-6 win over Quincy on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Summerfield's six-point performance the match before.
Whiteford's victory was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.4 points per game. As for Summerfield, their victory on Thursday bumped their record up to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Whiteford against Summerfield when the teams last played back in September of 2022 as the squad secured a 54-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whiteford since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
