Softball Recap: Kankakee's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kankakee had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Crete-Monee Warriors as they made off with an 18-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Kays, who have now won ten matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kylie Glogowski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Glogowski was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Lillian Landis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adleigh Cunningham, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Kankakee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Kankakee pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Crete-Monee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kankakee will take on Thornridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crete-Monee, they will square off against Thornwood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Thunderbirds have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
