Given Tri-Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Fisher is ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Fisher lost, one person who can't be blamed is Melina Luyando. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals. The game was Luyando's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Hott, who scored 16 points.
Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Fisher, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Tri-Valley will head out on the road to face off against Fieldcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fisher, they will square off against Shelbyville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
