Baseball Recap: Plano Extends Winning Streak to Four

Plano came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Earlville Red Raiders get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Reapers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.

Quentin Santoria was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Plano's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 8-18 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jason Phillips, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Plano always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Plano's win bumped their record up to 11-18. As for Earlville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plano will host Ottawa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Earlville, they will welcome Stark County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
