The Desert View Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 12th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 73-19 loss at the hands of Buena. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Desert View in their matchups with Buena: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Desert View saw an underclassman step up: Solana Celaya scored six points.
Buena's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but London Richardson led the charge by scoring 32 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richardson has scored all season. Grace Hohman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 steals.
Desert View has been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season. As for Buena, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Nogales the next time they take the court. Desert View will head out to face Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Buena will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
