The Brookhaven Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Holmes County Central Jaguars at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Brookhaven is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Brookhaven was able to grind out a solid win over Natchez, taking the game 52-41.
Among those leading the charge was Kordell Collins, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Jamarius Malone was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Holmes County Central came up short against Cleveland Central on Tuesday and fell 47-34. While losing is never fun, Holmes County Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Cleveland Central is ranked 17th).
Brookhaven is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Holmes County Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
