Basketball Recap: Niobrara County Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Niobrara County entered their tilt with Southeast on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-43 W against the Southeast Cyclones. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Southeast's loss came despite strong showings from TJ Moats and Ayden Desmond. Moats dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards, while Desmond dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Moats has posted since back in December of 2024. Beaux Shimic was another key player, putting up six points.

Niobrara County's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Southeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Niobrara County will face off against Pine Bluffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast, they will take on Guernsey-Sunrise at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast is facing Guernsey-Sunrise at the right time seeing as Guernsey-Sunrise is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
