Athens Academy had won three straight road games and Keyon Standifer did his part to make it four on Friday. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Rabun County Wildcats 49-46 thanks in part to Standifer, who picked up 218 receiving yards and four scores, and also rushed for 34 yards. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards.
Another player making a difference was Chap Chapman, who threw for 338 yards and six TDs on only 16 passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Athens Academy, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Standifer, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
