Rockcastle County has won ten straight games at home, while Estill County has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Rockets will welcome the Engineers at 6:00 p.m. Rockcastle County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Rockcastle County needed a bit of extra time to put away Southwestern. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Warriors.

Sawyer Yates was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Phoenix Pitman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Zeke Fain, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Rockcastle County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Estill County nor Perry County Central made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Engineers fell just short of the Commodores by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Engineers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Estill County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Moore, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Estill County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Rockcastle County, their win bumped their record up to 26-8.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rockcastle County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Estill County struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Rockcastle County's way against Estill County when the teams last played back in April, as Rockcastle County made off with a 15-4 victory. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Engineers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
