Downers Grove North and Plainfield East are an even 4-4 against one another  since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Trojans will host the Bengals  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Tomlinson  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits, while  Noonan  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. What's more,  Noonan posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024.
 At the plate,  Brady Schallmoser was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.  Antonio Russoties also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
 Meanwhile,  it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Plainfield East had no problem doing just that  on Monday. They walked away with  a   6-2  win over the Raiders. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bengals as it put an end to their ten-game losing streak.
 Plainfield East's win bumped their record up to 8-26-1. As for Downers Grove North, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record  this season.
 Downers Grove North was able to grind out a solid  victory over Plainfield East when the teams last played  back in March, winning  7-4. Will the Trojans repeat their success,  or do  the Bengals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
