The Seaforth Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seaforth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.
Seaforth's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Northwood 15-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Emma Grace Hill made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Annika Johansson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cami Brinkley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Seaforth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bartlett Yancey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to Northwood.
Bartlett Yancey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyndsey Smithers, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Seaforth pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bartlett Yancey, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
Bartlett Yancey's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Seaforth has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bartlett Yancey, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Seaforth keep running through batters, or will the Buccaneers buck the trend?
Everything went Seaforth's way against Bartlett Yancey when the teams last played back in March, as Seaforth made off with a 17-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
