The Christian Community Colts won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by Horizon Christian Academy 65-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Christian Community has suffered since November 17, 2023.
Evan Holcombe was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Horizon Christian Academy. Holcombe is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Beenken, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Christian Community's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Horizon Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-10.
Christian Community will be playing at home against Merrol Hyde Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Horizon Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Haven Christian at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. South Haven Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Horizon Christian Academy in their respective states (South Haven Christian is ranked 158th in Tennessee, while Horizon Christian Academy is ranked 410th in Georgia).
