The Montgomery Vikings fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Campolindo Cougars on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Cougars 53-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Montgomery in their matchups with Campolindo: they've now lost four in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Dylan Mansour, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Campolindo's points. Landon Fly was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Campolindo, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Montgomery will take on Fortuna at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Campolindo will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Monterey Trail at 3:30 p.m. on December 2nd. One thing working in Monterey Trail's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
