The Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Bluffton, falling 64-20. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lima Central Catholic in their matchups with Bluffton: they've now lost four in a row.
Ayla Grandey was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds for Bluffton. The contest was Grandey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Schaadt, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Lima Central Catholic bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bluffton, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lima Central Catholic will take on Lima Senior at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lima Senior focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Thursday. As for Bluffton, they will be playing at home against Ottoville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Ottoville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
