The Skyline Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 77-47 loss at the hands of Thompson Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Skyline in their matchups with Thompson Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Andy Erives, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Erives has scored all season. Talan Starcevich was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Thompson Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Kennison, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Kennison is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tom Mandeville, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Skyline bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Thompson Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will take on Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Frederick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday. As for Thompson Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loveland at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Loveland is ranked 145th, while Thompson Valley is ranked 134th).
