Brighton Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadyn Mark, who scored nine points. Dylan Mastrapasqua was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thunderbird Adventist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gideon Orellana, who scored 20 points along with six steals. The contest was Orellana's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnie Garcia, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Brighton Charter's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Thunderbird Adventist Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brighton Charter will square off against Ville de Marie Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ville de Marie Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brighton Charter in Arizona (Ville de Marie Academy is ranked 63rd, while Brighton Charter is ranked 284th). Thunderbird Adventist Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Telesis Prep at 4:30 p.m. on December 18th.
