Softball Recap: Ooltewah Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

While Ooltewah put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Howard Tech. The Owls blew past the Hustlin' Tigers 15-0. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 matches by six runs or more this season.

Jaeda Tucker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, ten RBI, and two runs. Those ten RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylin Leblanc, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie McCabe, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.

Ooltewah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Ooltewah pushed their record up to 25-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Howard Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Ooltewah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Howard Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brainerd at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
