The Big Horn Rams were the 52-36 winner over the Niobrara County Tigers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Big Horn opened the new year with a less-than-successful 72-64 loss to Niobrara County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Big Horn still got an impressive performance from Caleb Gibson, who scored 33 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The game was Gibson's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Stafford, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Big Horn's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Niobrara County, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Big Horn will head out on the road to face off against Burns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burns is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Niobrara County, they will square off against Wright at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Wright knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Niobrara County likes a good challenge.
