The Morrill Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Edgemont at home to the tune of 61-18. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Morrill has managed all season.
Pittman Ashwin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Morrill's points. Teige Whetham was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Edgemont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cian Waite. Despite the final result, he scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Waite has scored all season.
Morrill's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Edgemont, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrill won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on December 16th. Edgemont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Banner County at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Banner County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
