Mexico is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Purple Tigers a 16-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Mexico Tigers will take on the Cortland Purple Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Mexico was the victim of a rough 75-51 defeat at the hands of the Trojans. Mexico has struggled against the Trojans recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Cortland came up short against the Cyclones on Saturday and fell 61-49. While losing is never fun, Cortland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 580th, while the Cyclones are ranked 229th).
Cortland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaxson Gambitta, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds, and Antonio Terrazas who scored ten points along with two steals. Owen Johnson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
