The Centerville Tigers won the last time they faced the Grapeland Sandies, and things went their way on Friday too. Centerville snuck past Grapeland with a 45-40 victory.
Grapeland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mikayla Woods, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Woods has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Tryon, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Centerville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-18. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Grapeland, Latexo, and Groveton. As for Grapeland, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
Centerville will be playing at home against Groveton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grapeland, they will head out on the road to take on Latexo at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Latexo has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
