Even though the Workman Lobos scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, the Walnut Mustangs still came out on top. Walnut walked away with a 67-55 win over Workman. Given Walnut's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Workman is ranked 566th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Myles Wainwright continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Wang, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Walnut pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Workman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut will be home for the holidays to greet Diamond Bar at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Diamond Bar is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. Workman will be home for the holidays to greet La Serna at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
