Dow has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Powers Catholic Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dow will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Powers Catholic is ranked 53rd).
Last Friday, Dow lost to Mt. Pleasant at home by a decisive 57-42 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dow has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Powers Catholic put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 78-58 margin over Bay City Western. The victory was familiar territory for Powers Catholic who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Javontae Ross, who shot 4-for-8 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Dow's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Powers Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
