The Middleton Vikings will be playing at home against the Capital Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Middleton will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Middleton can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. Everything went their way against Eagle as Middleton made off with a 57-37 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Middleton has posted since December 5, 2023.
Middleton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Blackwell, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Blackwell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Laci Eagy, who scored six points along with two steals.
Capital fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Mountain View with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 54-39.
Middleton pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Capital, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Middleton strolled past Capital in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 55-36. Will Middleton repeat their success, or does Capital have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
