The Lorain Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lorain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Lorain scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Garfield Heights on the road to the tune of 70-29. Given Lorain's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Garfield Heights is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Kayla Mosley, who scored 22 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Samone Whitt was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Vermilion lost to Clyde on the road by a decisive 65-48 margin on Monday. Vermilion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lorain's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Vermilion, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Lorain suffered a grim 52-32 defeat to Vermilion when the teams last played back in January of 2021. Can Lorain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
