Longmont Christian extended the longest winning streak in A-8 North - I-25 (8 Man) this week by beating Belleview Christian, 27-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Warriors.
Rocky Mountain Lutheran was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Eagles defeated Justice 42-40.
The Bruins' dynamic duo of Jameson Iiams and Jerrod Moore proved tough for Longmont Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Iiams threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns and Moore had 98 yards receiving. Jared Brown helped Belleview Christian's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 85 yards.
Aaron Spaude was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 386 yards on 17 carries as Rocky Mountain Lutheran lost to Jerry Martin's team. Teammate Chris Weidersberg added to the ground attack by rushing for 50 yards.
Belleview Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Iiams has thrown for 989 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Moore has 29 catches for 431 yards. Brown leads the league in rushing with 1027 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Phoenix take on the Warriors. At the moment, Justice is in fourth, while Longmont Christian is in first.
