The Belmont Bison had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Dohn Community with a 58-52 win on Friday. The victory was just what Belmont needed coming off of a 71-51 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Belmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jariah Porter, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Porter is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camauria Mayo, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds.
Belmont's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Dohn Community, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will challenge Ponitz Career Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Dohn Community is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Meadowdale at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Meadowdale is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game.
