Southfield Christian extended the longest winning streak in Michigan Independent this week by beating Lutheran, 23-8. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Eagles.
Parkway Christian made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,020 from 13,263. The improvement was largely due to a 27-21 victory over Parkway Christian last week.
University Liggett's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Thomas Jackson has thrown for 455 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Lordanthony Grissom has 24 catches for 309 yards. Jackson also leads the league in rushing with 270 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Southfield Christian takes on second place Oakland Christian.
