Baseball Recap: Master's Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Master's Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Colton Thompson made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has become a key player for Master's Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, Master's Academy got a massive performance out of Jacob Cotgreave, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That double was Cotgreave's first of the season. Luke Bona was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Master's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Park Academy only posted a batting average of .235.

The victory (which was Master's Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Master's Academy will host Brevard HEAT at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Master's Academy is facing Brevard HEAT at the right time seeing as Brevard HEAT is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they will face off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
