It was a good run, but the McIntosh Demons unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Jackson by a score of 67-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss McIntosh has suffered yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Caster, who scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Caster has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeyun Chapman, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
McIntosh's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-3. As for Jackson, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McIntosh will take on Fruitdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fruitdale is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against Citronelle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Citronelle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Jackson is ranked 63rd).
