After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Iowa Colony, the Sweeny Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Columbia by a score of 70-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sweeny to victory, but perhaps none more so than Warrick Hernandez, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Kendrick Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven steals.
The victory got Sweeny back to even at 14-14. As for Columbia, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Bay City the next time they take the court. Columbia will host Bay City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sweeny will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
