The Spencer Rockets lost against the Columbus Catholic Dons back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Spencer ended up on the wrong side of a tough 53-31 walloping at the hands of the Dons. Spencer has not had much luck with the Dons recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Spencer had strong showings from Autumn Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, and Alexis Mlsna, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Davis hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games.
Spencer has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Columbus Catholic, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Pirates at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Gilman is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Columbus Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Indians at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th.
