4A Conference 15 recap October 1, 2013
Pine Forest extended the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 15 this week by beating E.E. Smith, 27-21. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Seventy-First lost to Jack Britt 44-26 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Logan Green made the biggest impact on defense this week as Overhills fell to South View. The 6-foot-0 defensive end.
Jeremy Cox was a force in the backfield as the Tigers defeated the Jaguars.
Eric Carter was a passing and rushing force as the Buccaneers bested the Falcons. Carter's favorite target this week was Quinton Murphy, who caught 3 passes for 43 yards.
Torey Baize was the best wideout in the league this week as South View topped Overhills. Baize racked up 2 receptions for 61 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Golden Bulls' Harold Herbin and Shawn Barnes have proven to be a lethal combination. Herbin has thrown for 1,340 yards this season, while Barnes, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 20 catches for 485 yards. Jack Britt's Carter leads the league in rushing yards with 906.
Carter of the Brian Rimpf's team is only 94 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 102 carries Carter has put up 906 yards this year.
An important game coming up in 4A Conference 15 this week will be when Randy Ledford's team takes on Seventy-First. As it stands, the Tigers are in second, while Duran McLaurin's team is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when William Sochovka's team and the Buccaneers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Trojans comes in having scored 177 this season, while Jack Britt has scored 193. Pine Forest scored 27 points last week as it defeated E.E. Smith.
The Buccaneers led the league in scoring this week by notching 44 points on the Falcons. Carter ran for 215 yards in the win.
