The Southview Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 17th straight loss. They were beaten by Ross 58-20. While losing is never fun, Southview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 662nd, while Ross is ranked 64th).
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Rigg, who scored six points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Huffman, who scored two points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Southview's loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Ross, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southview will take on Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southview comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Ross, they will head out on the road to square off against Perkins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
