The Willard Crimson Flashes will be playing at home against the Port Clinton Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Willard strolled past Columbian with points to spare, taking the game 57-42.
Even though Port Clinton has not done well against Clyde recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Port Clinton walked away with a 50-42 win over Clyde. Given Port Clinton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Clyde is ranked 458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Willard's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Port Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Willard might still be hurting after the 67-41 loss they got from Port Clinton when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Willard was down 40-16.
