Meanwhile, Fairfield Union posted their closest win since August 28th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Amanda-Clearcreek, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Fairfield Union who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 26-24, 19-25, 19-17.
Bloom-Carroll better focus on containing Adi Bradford and Isabella Ritchie as the pair were huge in Fairfield Union's win. Bradford had 25 digs and one assist, while Ritchie had 30 digs, nine kills, four aces, and two blocks. That's the most aces Ritchie has posted over her last six matchups.
Fairfield Union was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 3-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Bloom-Carroll's record is now 17-1. As for Fairfield Union, their record now sits at 4-14.
Bloom-Carroll took their win against Fairfield Union in their previous meeting on September 4th by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
