3A/2A Conference 4 recap September 17, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kings Mountain, who took down 160th ranked Kings Mountain, 34-20.
Crest was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to second in 3A/2A Conference 4. The Chargers defeated Draughn 39-12 earlier in the week.
The Mountaineers' dynamic duo of Brandon Bell and Tico Crocker proved tough for East Rutherford to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bell threw for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns and Crocker had 62 yards receiving. Khalil Hopper helped Kings Mountain's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 40 yards.
Kings Mountain's dynamic duo of Bell and Crocker proved to be unstoppable against the Cavaliers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Crocker was the best wideout in the league this week as Greg Lloyd's team fell to East Rutherford.
He went 16-26 with 1 interceptions.
Raekwon Wahington was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 112 yards on 13 carries as Shelby fell to Clint Bland's team. Teammate Jaquavis Brooks added to the ground attack by rushing for 59 yards.
Bell put up the best numbers in passing as Kings Mountain lost to the Cavaliers.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Ralph Jolly. The Shelby star has 13 catches for 328 yards.
A big matchup in 3A/2A Conference 4 this week will be when Burns takes on the Mountaineers. The Bulldogs are currently in first, while Kings Mountain is in fifth.
East Rutherford moved up to 230 from 289 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cavaliers climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Mountaineers 34-20.
