The Patterson Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Antelope Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Patterson is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Patterson will face Antelope after dropping another heartbreaker against Manteca last Thursday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within two of beating them. The Tigers fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 14-13. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Patterson got a massive performance out of Miranda Pena Chavez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Olivia Dallimore was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Antelope, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Lincoln by a score of 9-6 on Thursday.
Antelope got a big performance out of Isabella Sheldon, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Sheldon has posted since back in March. Nalani Navarro also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Antelope is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Patterson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Patterson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Antelope struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
