Basketball Recap: Copper Basin's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Copper Basin's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They rang in the new year with a 45-37 victory over Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Copper Basin found their leader in sophomore AJ Pero, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Darrius Harris, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

Copper Basin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Copper Basin's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence, their record now sits at 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Copper Basin will face off against Macon Early College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence, they will host Ridgeland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
